
Randy Knighton serves as the City Administrator for Roswell, GA, acting as the City's chief executive officer. In this role, he oversees the management of a $200 million budget, more than 25 departments, divisions, and offices, and a workforce of 700 full-time employees. Knighton is responsible for the City's day-to-day operations and ensures the effective implementation of policies approved by Roswell's Mayor and City Council to deliver high-quality services to Roswell’s residents in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
With over 30 years of experience in local government, Knighton brings a wealth of leadership and operational expertise to the position. Prior to joining Roswell, he served as the City Manager of Stockbridge, GA, since 2017. Before that, he was the Hall County Administrator from 2011 to 2017 and previously held the role of Planning Director for Hall County. His career also includes extensive planning experience in Florida, having worked with Orange County, the City of Orlando, and Osceola County.
Knighton holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida, as well as a Master of Divinity from Emory University. He is a credentialed manager with the International City/County Management Association and an active member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, the American Planning Association, and the Georgia Planning Association.
