The Roswell Fire Department strives to develop programs that foster a close working relationship between the department and the Roswell community. The Citizen’s Fire Academy was created to build connections between local fire service professionals and the community by educating those who live and work in the City of Roswell about the services provided by the Roswell Fire Department.

Program Overview

Citizen Fire Academy The Citizen’s Fire Academy is a free, 30-hour program designed to provide an in-depth understanding of fire service operations and the many functions it serves in the community. This program features a mix of engaging presentations and hands-on activities taught by members of all ranks within the Roswell Fire Department. Together, we are achieving our vision of becoming an innovative, world-class public safety organization.

Participant Requirements

To participate in the Citizen’s Fire Academy, applicants must:
  • Live and/or work in the City of Roswell.
  • Be at least 16 years old (those under 18 must provide written parental permission).
  • Pass a background check.

Application Information

  • Application Period: January 1–14, 2025
  • Notification Date: January 22, 2025

Program Dates

The Spring 2024 Citizen’s Fire Academy will be held on Wednesday evenings from February 12 to April 23, 2025, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM.
